I expect all students to come to class having read the material, and prepared to actively engage in class discussion. Coming to class and not participating in class discussion is not sufficient to be considered a participant in class. Therefore, I do not keep track of attendance per se. However, participation is a significant part of the final grade, and being absent regularly will negatively contribute to your overall participation score.
Participation if 5% of the final grade. And students will receive a:
